Vezi (38), the owner of Ka-Gumbi Courier, Freight and Logistics, entered the business after identifying an entrepreneurship opportunity while working as a clerk for Safcon Freights in Durban in the 1990s.
For 13 years, he was responsible for receiving and dispatching goods and he thanks his mentor of five years, David Charles, for showing him the ropes.
His second – and last – employer was CFG courier company, which persuaded him to transfer from Durban to Joburg to be in charge of the main hub of its international freight business.
