NEF moves to ease cash crunch, DAILY DISPATCH (Final Edition), Business
In talks with IDC to set up fund to help black business THE National Empowerment Fund (NEF) is looking to tap into the financial reserves of development finance institutions as a solution to its lack of funding, a fund executive has told parliament. The NEF is in discussions with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) to set up a joint fund for the financing of black-empowered businesses, an area in which the IDC is no longer active, Setlakane Molepo told parliament's trade and industry committee at the weekend during a briefing on the fund's work.
