‘NEF is for black business only’, Thenewage.co.za – The New Age
The National Empowerment Fund’s (NEF) money is “black”, and that is meant to assist black business only, guests at the opening of the fund’s Free State office in Bloemfontein, were told on Thursday.
Setlakalane Molepo, the divisional executive of the SME and rural development division at NEF, told a packed auditorium at the Ilanga Estate that: “Unlike other entities that fund small businesses, our money is not colourless, our money is black. We have criteria that we follow on all applications and there are a few questions that need to be answered, one of which is ‘are you black?’. And we still go through a robust assessment,” Molepo said.
