National Empowerment Fund looks to other bodies for funding, BUSINESS DAY (Late Final)
CAPE TOWN — The National Empowerment Fund (NEF) is looking to tap into the financial reserves of development finance institutions as a solution to its lack of funding, a fund executive has told Parliament. The NEF is in discussions with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) to set up a joint fund for the financing of black-empowered businesses, an area in which the IDC is no longer active, Setlakane Molepo told Parliament's trade and industry committee at the weekend during a briefing on the fund's work. These discussions are continuing.
