DC takes feature films funded to 40, Bdlive.co.za – Business Day Live
THE Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) has funded 40 local feature films, and 19 were either black-owned or black-directed.
This emerged from a parliamentary reply on Wednesday by Economic Development Minister Ebrahim Patel to a question from Democratic Alliance MP Willem Faber. About 94 South African films were released at local cinemas between 2010 and last year, and the IDC funded 17 of them, or 18%.
