THERE are major advances being made in reforming the procurement function within stateowned entities in South Africa. So says Kamogelo Mampane, Sars senior manager and executive member of the State Owned Enterprise Procurement Forum (SOEPF) which recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS). The purpose of the MoU serves to ensure that all procurement and supply chain officials in Southern Africa are licensed to practice. Mampane explained that SOEPF and CIPS SA share a vision of becoming leading practices for the purchasing and supply communities.
