Foreign DFIs match their skills to local ones, BUSINESS REPORT (Cape Times) Page 21
OREIGN DEVELOPMENT FINANCE INSTITUTIONS (DFIs) are often the unseen partner in developmental financing in South Africa, funding local institutions with the required expertise: Investec, Sasfin Bank and Business Partners all report either receiving funding from foreign DFIs or are working in partnership with them over the past year. Sasfin, like several other lenders in this invaluable niche, has been granted a long-term facility by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), which is a member of the World Bank group.
